Miramar, FL is in between the pathway of two major cities, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This was originally built as a bedroom community in Broward County. There are 140,328 residents living in Miramar. The median household income is $64,632. The poverty rate is 10.2%. Marijuana is the most common drug here. Alcohol is also a major concern. Fortunately, underage drinking has dropped in Broward County (60%). The use of Marijuana has increased to 60% among adolescents younger than 18.  87% of the minors who have entered drug abuse treatment have reported to use marijuana.

The youth of Miramar is affected due to the easy availability of drugs. Due, to this easy access, the youth have entered into mental health conditions.  Anxiety, depression, and suicide attempts are some common problems that are reported. Substance abuse is a major problem in this area due to illegal manufacturing. The government has also taken strict action against these culprits who are destroying the youth of Miramar.
