I am a licensed professional clinical counselor associate (LPCA) with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from University of Cumberlands and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I am also a member of the Kentucky Counseling Association and the American Counseling Association.
I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings providing individual counseling as well as group therapy. I have experience working with diverse client populations, with a primary focus on providing treatment to children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families.
I assist clients as they face a variety of treatment issues including, but not limited to:
• chemical dependency and substance abuse disorders
• anxiety disorders
• mood disorders
• childhood emotional/behavioral problems
• pre-marital counseling
• relationship issues (including infidelity and divorce/separation)
• grief and loss
• low self-esteem/impaired self-identity
• life transitions such as divorce, death, career changes and/or retirement
My approach to treatment is collaborative and strengths-based and I diligently attempt to create a safe environment for my clients in which the therapeutic alliance is valued and maintained throughout treatment.
My primary therapeutic approaches include a combination of evidence-based treatment modalities such as motivational enhancement, rational emotive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, client centered therapy and mindfulness in treatment.
I strive to offer my clients feelings of unconditional acceptance and warmth, as together we address the concerns which brought the client or family system to seek treatment. I like to create a space for my clients to explore their inner selves and connect to what is important to them, so that they can make changes and are able to live the future they envision for themselves. I am highly dedicated to helping others in their journey towards healing and helping clients meet their maximum potential while providing a safe and healing environment to elicit positive change.
