About Me
With over 10 years of supervisory clinical experience, and 12 years of substance abuse treatment, Mark began as a counselor with Awareness Counseling & Consulting in Georgetown and Paris, Kentucky and subsequently served as Senior Counselor for Recovery Works in Georgetown, Kentucky. Mr. Deaton created, implemented and supervised the Intensive Out-Patient program at Crossroads Counseling Services, Inc., in Georgetown, Kentucky, and at Riverview Counseling in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Mr. Deaton was the Substance Abuse Program (S.A.P.) Coordinator for the Boyle County Detention Center in Danville, Kentucky where he worked with patients to establish goals and develop treatment plans, as well as facilitated process group therapy, 12-step study groups, family social events and family group therapy activities.
He recently completed his Ph.D. in Psychology -- with a specialized focus in Addiction Psychology -- from Cappella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor (LCADC-S), and Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S).
