Shirley Neal
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked over 9 years with clients on problems ranging from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family issues, work and health issues, sexuality issues and orientation, and grief, to name a few. I have also helped individuals with PTSD, sexual trauma and abuse, emotional trauma and abuse, and physical trauma and abuse.
My counseling style is warm and person-centered. I treat everyone with respect and compassion. My counseling approach is eclectic, pulling from several approaches: psychodynamic and psychoanalytic, object relations, cognitive behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy. I work closely with you to find workable solutions and beneficial ways of responding to and coping with these personal issues and situations. I also can help you deal effectively with symptoms of depression and anxiety that often accompany difficult life situations.
In addition to resolving issues, I emphasize redefining yourself & your relationships with others; I help you discover life purpose, meaning, & hope; & together, we look for ways to promote personal growth & strengths. If you are facing a challenging situation or are ready to move in a new direction, I look forward to meeting with you.
