My personal belief is that each and every person is valuable and has the potential to overcome negative events of the past, become integrated, find acceptance in their unique identity, and engage in healthy, meaningful, and joy-filled relationships. I work to develop a therapeutic relationship through unconditional acceptance and positive regard. I value self-determination and empower clients to gain perspective from the past, honestly access the present, and embark on the journey to become the person they feel good about.

My personal experience includes many life lessons including 40+ years of marriage to a military veteran, parenting (seven children and eleven grandchildren), volunteer work with Christian ministry, women's recovery groups, home education, public school social work, and counseling and support for nursing home residents.
