Megan George is a psychotherapist in private practice, as well as a therapist with BlueFire Wilderness Therapy. Megan wholeheartedly believes that every human wants to feel connected, to be a part of something and find meaning. She applies a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on a person in their entirety and the interconnectedness of the mind and body. Megan currently provides individual and group therapy for those struggling with a variety of issues, including anxiety, addiction, suicidal ideation, maintaining healthy relationships, impulsivity, gender and sexual identity, trauma, oppositional behavior, and depression.
Megan collaborates with her clients to create a client-centered process, integrating various therapeutic approaches. She works to build connection with her clients, utilizing experiential therapy and the outdoors whenever possible to create opportunities for insight. Megan often incorporates expressive arts and play therapy with her younger clients.
Megan received her graduate degree and training in therapy from Western Carolina University and has over a decade of experience working with young people. She uses her knowledge and experience to help her clients recognize unhealthy patterns in their lives and support them in their adventure of self discovery and journey towards change and self healing.
