About Me
During the Covid-19 crisis my office is closed, but I am still conducting sessions through telephone or secure video.
I have journeyed with adults experiencing a wide variety of issues, in practice for 15+ years. Although I spend time exploring the specific problem that brings you into counseling or therapy, I will also explore in depth the nature of your relationships with other significant people in your life. I will do this in such a way as to challenge ineffective ways of living and provide for personal change to occur. Change at this level requires more than new skills or understanding. I will help you work through and take responsibility for the specific situations you are facing.
My focus is working with women who struggle with depression, trauma, shame/guilt, anxiety, spiritual abuse, and sexual abuse. Together with my husband Michael Unruh (CSAT), we provide a comprehensive treatment program for sex addicts and partners of sex addicts. I help partners of sex addicts navigate their betrayal trauma and establish healthy boundaries.
We provide a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and joint couples support in the context of treatment for sex addiction and betrayal trauma. We journey alongside people who have been devastated by the relational trauma that occurs through betrayal and addiction. I am also trained in EMDR and utilize it in my treatment for trauma.
