About Me

It is my belief that people find their problems to be oppressive and they desire relief from them. I work from a systemic perspective and believe that symptoms are created and sustained through habits, cycles, and through the meaning one makes of the events of one's life. I work collaboratively with my clients as we utilize their worldview, strengths, and resources. My frame of reference is from the Narrative Therapy perspective and I utilize cognitive behavioral interventions and mindfulness practices.

For about 30 years, I have worked with people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, work-related and relationship challenges, grief, living with the effects of having been abused in any ways as a child, growing up with a substance abusing or mentally ill parent(s). One of the goals of therapy with me is to be able to learn from one's past and to incorporate these learnings into the ways of living one's life.
