Alison Maples
As a counselor and an art therapist, I try to integrate the two separate disciplines, but can also separate them for those who aren’t interested in both. My goal is to connect with others and get a better understanding of them as a whole being to better help them reach their highest potential. Being able to connect to others through talk therapy, art mediums, and technology allow me to better understand others where they feel most comfortable.
I received my Master’s of Art in Counseling and Art Therapy from Wayne State University in 2016. I am very active with the Michigan Association of Art Therapists and am the Delegate to the Assembly of Chapters for the American Art Therapy Association.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of areas including the following: Anxiety, Depression, Life Stress, LGBTQIA+, Relationship Satisfaction, Life Transitions, Coping Skills, Grief and Loss, Self-Esteem Issues, and Career Counseling.
