About Me
Life is filled with successes and challenges. As you navigate through you sometimes realize that your past experiences are interfering with your present moments. As a survivor of childhood trauma, you might notice that you don’t feel content, happy, or connected. There might be an underlying feeling of anger, shame, sadness, anxiety, inadequacy, or depression. There is hope and healing. You have come to the right place!
I am dedicated to helping survivors of childhood trauma learn and develop the skills needed to heal from their past experiences so they can be more present in their lives. Working with survivors of childhood trauma and individuals who struggle with attachment challenges is my passion. I also love partnering with other mental health professionals who desire to grow their skills working with childhood trauma and attachment. Helping individuals heal from childhood trauma and attachment challenges has become my life’s mission. I’ve been on this journey for the past 14 years and I have no desire to stop anytime soon!
I received my Master of Science from Kansas State University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. During my time in graduate school, I fell in love with Play Therapy. I completed a Play Therapy certification program through KC Play Therapy Institute. At the beginning of my career, I worked as a Social Services Case Manager and had the honor of working with many children and families suffering from trauma and attachment challenges. This led me on a journey to learn about trauma and attachment. I completed Dr. Dan Hughes’ level one Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy training in Maine. I then went on to complete Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training, the Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children through The Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska. Currently, I am working to become certified in Somatic Experiencing®.
I was born in the country and absolutely love rural living. I love growing a vegetable garden, cooking food for my family, and eating delicious seafood. During warm summer days, I love being active outside, but on cold winter days, I can be found working on my latest crochet project snuggled under a blanket.
