About Me

We all have moments when we struggle with our emotions whether we are struggling with grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, job stress, spiritual conflicts and more. Ultimately, my motivation and dedication is to help others become their best version of themselves when faced with these struggles and create a path towards a future that is hopeful, exciting and empowering.

In 2015 I graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma. Now as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) I have been working in individual practice for seven years. I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and trauma/PTSD. Prior to individual practice, I worked in community mental health as a case worker and therapist with both men and women struggling with a variety of mental health and substance issues.

Over the past 10 years I have created an effective and unique approach to therapy that focuses on working with adults using an insight oriented, cognitive and dialectical approach that encourages balance in the mind, body and spirit. This begins with cognitive therapy to help my clients think about the issues they're facing from a different lens that is created with the development of insight, introspect and understanding of how their past experiences and conflicts have shaped unhealthy thoughts, perceptions and behaviors. Once an understanding of self is developed, the client can begin to learn and utilize dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills to gain emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. For clients who are experiencing somatic symptoms from trauma and stress such as stiff muscles, body aches, illnesses and unexplained chronic pains, they can choose to engage in mindfulness practices such Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) and/or Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), which reconnects us to our bodies and resets our sympathetic nervous system of fight, flight and freeze survival responses to the parasympathetic nervous system of rest and digest.
