I am a licensed psychologist in private practice specializing in relationship and stress management. With over 20 years’ experience as a therapist, administrator, professor, and executive coach, I have developed specialized expertise in executive leadership and career performance.
I work with a wide variety of issues including relational and stress management concerns, life transitions, career issues, communication skills, parenting, anxiety, and depression.
I utilize evidenced-based therapy to develop healthy communication and connection and am particularly influenced by current research in the field of positive psychology, neuroscience, and mind-body medicine. My initial focus is providing a warm, supportive environment while getting to know your unique situation and concerns. After we agree on a direction for therapy, I tend to be relatively directive and engaged. I help people express emotions and build relationship skills. I tend to be solution-focused and strength-based, with a strong belief in mindfulness interventions to develop health and well-being. I created HYPMIND, a specialized method of increasing well-being and decreasing stress, to help my clients deal with stress-related conditions that affect health and relationships.
I hold Clinical Associate Professor appointments at the University of Utah in the departments of Psychiatry and Educational Psychology. I also serve as a consultant to R3 Continuum and LHI providing evaluations, crisis response, and organizational consultation to enhance personal and organizational health and well-being. I have previously worked as Clinical Director of the Family Support Center and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Utah teaching graduate level courses in Family Therapy.
I utilize the Gottman Method and am a Certified Gottman Educator. I have advanced training and certification in EMDR, couples communication (Couples Communication Program), meditation (Clinically Standardized Meditation) and hypnotherapy (Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, ICBCH), along with many years of yoga practice.
I look forward to meeting with you and supporting your journey to maximize healthy relationships, well-being, and performance.
