About Me
I am a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and I am currently the President of the Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also the current Coordinator of the South Broward/North Dade Chapter of CHADD as well as an honored member of Delta Kappa, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society.
I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development from Florida State University in 1991 and then went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Family Therapy as well as a Clinical Specialist Degree in Family Systems Health Care from Nova Southeastern University in 1993. I am also a Florida State Qualified Supervisor for Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Interns and Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns.
As a therapist, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults providing individual and family counseling. I specializes in childhood and adult ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Couples Therapy, Postpartum Counseling and Medical Family Therapy. I was trained in Family Systems Theories and typically practice Brief Systemic Therapy (MRI), I also utilize The Gottman Method, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I focus on what is the best fit for my clients.
My passion is working with Couples that want to stay together. I have written and published several articles on couples issues dealing with affair recovery to understanding and living with a spouse with ADHD, Anxiety, Postpartum Depression or Anxiety, and PTSD.
