Hi, welcome! It takes a lot of courage to ask for help, and you have taken a very important first step. I believe that virtually everyone can benefit from therapy. I also believe that everyone has potential for growth and may simply be missing the tools necessary to reach their potential. I work with individuals who experience a wide range of presenting problems, and I have significant experience working with adolescents and young adults with mood and anxiety disorders, behavioral difficulties, and suicidal ideation. I recognize that each client has differing needs and expectations from therapy, and I work to personalize treatment to each presenting issue.
I am passionate about providing support for my clients and helping them achieve their potential and overcome life stressors. I was trained using the scientist-practitioner model, which emphasizes reliance on up-to-date research to inform clinical practice. I implement an integrated approach to treatment, focusing heavily on the cognitive-behavioral model as well as acceptance and commitment, humanistic, mindfulness, motivational, and solution-focused strategies. I try to meet my clients where they’re at; it is your journey, and my job is to act as a guide and provide you with support.
Treatment will be most effective with a solid and trusting therapeutic foundation. I aim to provide clients with an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and safe space to explore their thoughts and emotions and to make small changes to improve their perception of themselves, others, and the world. I look forward to hearing from you!
