About Me
Michelle earned her master’s degree in counseling as well as an MBA from Wake Forest University. She has over fifteen years of experience in the counseling and education industry as a National Certified School Counselor (NCSC) and National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT). She is a Board Certified Coach (BCC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider (BC-TMH) and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in North Carolina.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Michelle’s style is eclectic and based on each client’s individual needs. Michelle’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, positive relationships, and team development for success, and she takes an action-oriented, person-centered approach with her clients. Michelle provides counseling face-to-face, via online, telephone and email/chat exchanges.
Michelle has worked as a school counselor and can offer educational consultation to assist your student in developing social and academic skills as well as evaluate appropriate accommodations. Michelle works with adolescents, collegiate, and adults of all ages to develop ADHD coping strategies to foster personal growth and development.
Michelle spent eight years as the Director of Certification Services at the National Board for Certified Counselors and was responsible for managing six certifications with over 68,000 certificants. She previously served as the managing editor for The Professional Counselor and has co-designed the Educator Edition of the Mental Health Facilitator training program.
