I've been involved in the clinical counseling field for almost 6 years. However, my passion for this line of work goes back much further than this. I LOVE working with people , identifying goals, and developing action steps to achieve them. My areas of focus are anxiety, general life stress, relationship struggles, life transitions (high school to next steps/ college to next steps), and healing from childhood emotional neglect in adulthood. I like to think of myself as your partner in this process . We learn together to foster your growth.
I enjoy looking at the thought process: automatic thoughts, negative thoughts, and how we can work with them to "train your brain" to see things in a more positive way. I tend to gravitate towards Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, and tie in attachment theory , but I know that is not for everyone. I strive to pull from many modalities to make a plan that is best for YOU!
Personally, I know the value in connecting with a therapist. Building a trusting relationship is where I like to start and build a plan that is unique to your needs....together. Making the decision to begin therapy can be tough. My mission is to create a warm, welcoming, and safe space for you to learn, grow, and achieve.
