Kristine Lorefice Segal
I work with youth, adults, couples & families with Asperger's Syndrome & Autism Spectrum Disorder. Distinct specialties include ASD gender dysphoria, & neurodiverse+neurotypical "mixed" marriages. I also work with (neuro) typical clients with mental health, social, relationship & academic struggles. I received my MSW from Columbia University's School of Social Work & my B.A. from Davidson College. I attended NYC's Asperger Center for Education. I run therapeutic wilderness camps, programs & groups in San Francisco & NYC, working along top experts in ASD. Recently, I worked as a therapist at the Temple Grandin School for 3 years.
I recognize the immense strengths & gifts of my clients. I aim to help you find your sweet spot. Through hands-on, visual & creative work; harnessing your talents & interests; by fostering meaningful social and romantic relationships & finding you the best resources, programs, jobs & structure, we work to bring out your happiest, healthiest functioning self.
I meet with clients in my office, the restorative setting of nature or out in the community- whichever will maximize the benefits of our work. I understand the complex challenges that those with unique minds face. I tailor my approach to what will best serve you. Together, we articulate authentically motivated, action oriented & top research-based solutions.
I run 3 small therapeutic/recreational/social groups: 1: 20-30 something's who are neurodiverse, neurotypical & have social anxiety who are seeking friendship & connection 2: Women with Asperger's Syndrome. In these groups, members do group therapy, social skills work, creative activities or go on group-voted local outings/adventures to encourage reciprocal friendships & bonding; while working on social anxiety, struggles & promoting personal goals. In these groups, clients are free to be themselves without judgement where they can find like-minded peers who accept them for who they truly are. 3. Dating skills & matchmaking events for neurodiverse adults.
