Kim Johancen
As a therapist in practice for twenty-five years, I have developed specialties that include working with people at risk of suicide, survivors of suicide loss, and individuals struggling with self-injury. I have worked extensively with both adolescent and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. My ability to work with people who have experienced grief and loss extends throughout my career and I remain committed to helping people resolve their post trauma symptoms along with the events that fuel them. Over the last several years I have developed a passion for working with families through divorce, working with one or both parents, assisting parents as they work to heal attachment wounds with their children, and offer reintegration therapy when appropriate. I utilize a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and am at heart a Strengths Based therapist.
