About Me

Jim brings a wealth of life and professional experience to his practice. He especially has a heart for couples who struggle with establishing and maintaining deep connection in their relationship. Jim has completed all of the trainings for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, which is a researched based treatment for deepening the bond between the partners using an Attachment frame. Jim has been practicing EFT with his couples since 2015 and has experienced amazing success with this model. Furthermore, Jim has completed several Master courses in EFT, which have equipped him in helping couples work through infidelity, betrayal, and attachments injuries. Jim is also a Prepare Enrich Premarital Facilitator and enjoys helping couples prepare for life together.

For his work with individuals, Jim is trained and has experience in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective model for treating a range of trauma and phobic issues. Jim also has training and experience in the use of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a researched based model for facilitating inner healing. To enhance his work with individuals, Jim just finished a training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), which is an Attachment based approach to inner healing.

Jim works very experientially with his clients through developing a trusting alliance. Jim thinks it is crucial to be relentlessly attuned to his clients to develop a sense of trust between client and therapist. Jim believes strongly that it is not what you know but rather what you experience that brings healing.
