Jennifer Barajas

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to get to know more about me. My name is Jennifer, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan. I earned a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and have been practicing in the mental health field for over ten years. I have worked in a variety of settings; schools, prisons, home-based, outpatient, crisis response, addiction centers and private practice. I have the most experience working with complex trauma/abuse issues, PTSD, anxiety, depression, conflict resolution, family conflict, and sexual issues. I also have experience working with multicultural, physically disabled, youth, elderly, and LGBTQ populations.​

I use a person-centered, holistic, multicultural, and eclectic approach in treatment, providing you with the best care tailored to your needs. I use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, seeking safety, “classical” counseling and solution-focused counseling. I would describe myself as direct, but I am always empathetic, non-judgmental and supportive. I can push you past your comfort zone to resolve the goals you have set for yourself in therapy to assist you in creating a new healthy lifestyle!
