Ginger knows that the change process requires bravery, patience and a great partner. In 2005, she moved to Thailand to find new ways to manage anxiety and confront fears while living with monks, in farming villages and traveling. This experience was a catalyst for Ginger; she completed a Master’s Degree in Social Work to help others find change without having to uproot their lives.
Ginger is the former Director of Behavioral Health at Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit and she is passionate about offering creative and holistic approaches to help clients reach their goals more quickly. Ginger’s wit, compassion and insight help clients identify and change patterns of behavior and thought that are no longer serving them.
Ginger Houghton (LMSW/CAADC) has specialized training in anxiety, substance use and insomnia. Ginger is a Certified Advanced Addiction and Drug Counselor, with training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
