About Me
As a therapist, I strive to build a relationship with clients, empower them to make positive choices, and cultivate hope for a better future.
My Approach To Therapy:
I believe that a positive client/therapist relationship is the foundation of success in therapy. My role as a therapist is to create a safe and supportive environment, where clients feel comfortable to process the challenges they are facing. To do this, I tailor sessions to meet each client’s needs and work alongside them to develop positive coping skills to overcome life’s obstacles. Using a creative approach to counseling, I incorporate interactive activities such as journaling, art, outdoor walks and mindfulness, alongside traditional therapeutic interventions.
My Specialties:
I specialize in working with individual adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma, among many other issues. I am a Queer, Kink and Poly affirming therapist and strive to create safe space for you to be seen, heard, and accepted as your authentic self.
My Background:
I received a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Illinois State University. I am a Basic Accelerated Resolution Therapy® trained therapist with specialized training in sexual assault and domestic violence and I utilize a trauma-informed approach to therapy.
