About Me
Dr. Benjamin Neale is a licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado and owns a private practice, Grandview Therapy and Consulting, LLC in Colorado Springs, CO. Dr. Neale’s pronouns are he, him, his. He earned both his Masters of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from the APA-accredited California School of Professional Psychology San Francisco at Alliant University. Additionally, he holds a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Student Development and Pupil Services with an emphasis in Social Justice, as well as a B.A. in Gender and Women’s Studies from Knox College.
Dr. Neale’s clinical career includes treatment provision in a number of setting including: university counseling centers, integrated medical settings, community mental health centers, and long-term care facilities. In these various settings, Dr. Neale has a specialized treatment focus on trauma, anxiety and mood disorders with emerging adults, Veterans, and older adults. His inclusive practice provides a therapeutic space to understand how one’s intersecting identity group memberships (including race, gender, and sexuality) give cultural context for their specific disorder presentation. Dr. Neale has more recently appreciated his work with former and active military service members and their families.
Aside from providing psychological services, as an educator and group facilitator Dr. Neale has led retreats, workshops, and semester-long courses on topics including social justice, inclusion and equity. His unique knowledge and skill set provides experience working with diverse groups. From non-profit organizations, to schools and for-profit companies, he works with groups to increase intergroup communication across differences. Dr. Neale emphasizes learning through dialogue and experiential activities.
