About Me

Many people suffer under the weight of their sadness, fear, anger, and pain; others struggle to feel anything at all. Our self-esteem, relationships, or work can suffer as old cognitive, emotional, and behavioral paradigms are applied to new situations, often outside of our awareness. While it may seem daunting, exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences within the context of a safe therapeutic relationship can increase your access to, your awareness of, and your sense of control over your internal world. Through this process, you will find your strength, resilience, agency, and, ultimately, your freedom to more effectively shape your external world.

Finding the right therapist for this process is crucial. I recognize and respect the courage and strength it takes to pursue change and to challenge what is familiar. If we have the opportunity to work together, I will meet you with warmth, honesty, non-judgmental curiosity, and genuine interest in and insight about your experience.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples dealing with professional or family struggles, relationship discord, fears around intimacy and closeness, lack of motivation, perfectionism, self-defeating thoughts and behaviors, feelings of emptiness or isolation, trauma symptoms, loss and grief, and serious medical diagnoses. My practice is located one block from the Dupont Circle Metro, although I am currently holding video/teletherapy sessions with clients due to COVID-19.
