About Me

There are so many therapists out there, so how do you find the therapist that is right for you? It starts with expertise – who has the expertise to treat the conditions you find the most challenging?

Most therapists can treat anxiety and depression and general life stressors. However, it takes significant expertise to manage trauma, coming from sexual, physical or emotional abuse, or serious medical conditions. The focus of my practice is trauma and pain, and their impact on how people process life and experience relationships.

Do you find yourself reacting to situations with extreme emotions that seem to be stronger than the situations warrant? This “reactivity” is the result of trauma. I work with patients to understand how their brain is creating this reactivity and rewire their thinking so that they can calmly handle difficult situations. Lessening reactivity leads to greater freedom, to experience life and be in relationships in a healthy way.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty years of experience. I hold a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Southern California where my focus was expending mental health services through telemedicine. My goal for each patient is to regain a sense of control in their life, and to be freed of the emotions that hold them hostage so they can regain pleasure and joy, and live more fulfilling lives.

I hope to meet you soon and help you begin your journey towards peace and tranquility.
