Matt Fosket
My course in therapy is to pursue a real-world approach backed by ongoing education and clinical experience. I am a National Board Certified Counselor and licensed by the State of Nebraska as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families in therapeutic, advocacy and educational settings over the past 15 years, the last five as a licensed therapist. My goal is to use my personal and professional experiences to meet the needs of my clients. I strive to empower you to achieve your success.
I enjoy working to build connections between you and the people that matter. My personal experience as a husband and parent influences my intentions as I help families strengthen their relationships. I have particular interest in working with families who have experienced adoption, having personal experience with adoption. I provide guidance through a variety of difficulties experienced by individuals and families including anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, trauma and disruptive behaviors. I want to help you to understand the reason behind behaviors and learn to listen to what your body is telling you as you improve your relationships.
I use a variety of methods to help clients of all ages and backgrounds achieve their goals. I practice evidenced-based therapy models to facilitate change for individuals and families. As an animal lover, I practice Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) with my certified therapy dog Rufus. I strive to incorporate creativity and humor into my counseling practice. I find value in using the methods that work best for you, including play therapy, art or other methods to connect and reach your goals.
My education includes a Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chadron State College and a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I am a National Board Certified Counselor, a member of the American Counseling Association and am recorded as a pet therapy team through Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
