About Me

Feeling “stuck” or like you have “hit a wall?” Do you and your spouse or significant other feel like your communication is not what it used to be? Are you “at a loss” in trying to figure out your teenager or adolescent child? Are you scared of the “next steps” in life after a big change?

I thrive in helping you find better ways to enrich your life and strengthen your relationships. I have experience in helping people overcome symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and stress, as well as life transitions relating to the death of a loved one, divorce, moving to a new city, child-bearing, newfound parenthood, and unemployment, to name a few. I will help you find and develop skills to make your growth your own.

I thoroughly enjoy helping couples resolve conflict and strengthen emotional connections by identifying behaviors to help heal the relationship after experiencing affairs, emotional neglect, or lack of sexual intimacy. I am also passionate about helping parents connect with and understand their children. Through the use of metaphor and activities, I effectively help children vocalize and understand their emotions.

Much of my work is centered around finding solutions to problems by identifying little victories as well as what is already working. I also help people identify problematic behaviors and beliefs that may be contributing to relationship distress or personal depression and anxiety. My experience has also been centered around Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy.

I am a Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy at Sunstone Counseling working toward my license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, supervised by Amy Clay, LPC. I was born and raised in Utah and completed my undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. I then relocated to Northern Virginia for my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Virginia Tech.
