"No one comes to adulthood totally unscathed by the experience of growing up" is one of my favorite sayings, and I think a task I often encounter in therapy is to help others discard some of the rules and beliefs formed when they were growing up, the ones that keep them from finding their right place in the world. I love to help my clients find a new way to access their best selves, to learn how to self care and how to negotiate in relationships.

I work with lots of couples and delight when they turn a corner into safe, emotional intimacy. Before that happens I can hold hope even when they cannot, and I never give up.
