Alison Abbott
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and received my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015.
I have experience in working with clients of all ages, including children. I have worked in the therapeutic setting with individuals, couples, families and have also facilitated group therapy for domestic violence victims. I have been trained in trauma counseling, and have a background in helping those of all ages affected by domestic and sexual assaults as well as other trauma situations. I also specialize in helping those experiencing anxiety, depression, and general life struggles and transitions.
Through an integrative approach I provide clients with an initial assessment and further work to develop an individual treatment plan which will help the client set goals that he/she wishes to achieve. From the start, the relationship with my clients is one built on respect and trust which I feel are essential in providing a safe environment for growth and healing.
