Brian Nowak
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in the State of Ohio. I have worked in both mental health agencies and drug treatment facilities, since I graduated from the University of Akron in 1990. I opened a private counseling office in 2003 in Parma, Ohio.
I believe counseling is an opportunity to share your story with a professional counselor, who will listen to you with respect and unconditional positive regard. Throughout the counseling process we will identify irrational beliefs, emotional baggage and unhealthy behaviors. We will then establish goals to learn effective copings skills. These skills will help you better manage your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I believe the goal of counseling is to live a happier and healthier life by learning and practicing effective coping techniques. Every skill and technique we discuss from cognitive-behavioral techniques to EFT Tapping to relaxation exercises; I practice on a regular basis.
