Lilet grew up in The Philippines were she completed her BA in Psychology and MA in Guidance and
Counselling. After moving to Canada, she completed her MA in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville
University in 2010. She is currently a
Registered Professional Counsellor and a Master Practitioner in Clinical
Counselling in British Columbia, a Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario, and an active member in
different organizations such as College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO); Canadian
Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA); Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
(CCPA) and Canadian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapies (CACBT). She acquired an Advanced
Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for complex disorders at Ontario Institute for Studies
(OISE) in University of Toronto 2015. She also completed a Comprehensive Program in Dialectical
Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in 2017.
Lilet has had several years of working experience in the school setting in the Philippines as a School
Guidance Counsellor in High School and in College. She also taught some psychology courses. For nearly
10 years, she has worked as a Crisis Counsellor at Quinte Health Care Corporation, Belleville General
Hospital, Belleville Ontario. In addition, she helped clients at her own private practice. She moved to
British Columbia in February 2018 with her husband and started her own private practice “Live Today
Counselling Services” in Vancouver BC.
Lilet has in-depth knowledge in crisis counselling, CBT, DBT, Solution Focus Therapy, Brief Therapy,
Mindfulness and Holistic approaches. She offers couple/relationship counselling and individual
counselling for anxiety, depression and relationship issues.
Lilet is passionate about counselling and very caring about people. Her belief is that “we create our own
happiness” and “one of the simplest ways to be Happy is to let go of the things that make you sad”.
Being born and raised in Asia, her cultural background has been enriched with 15 years of life in The
Netherlands, her husband’s birthplace. She moved to Canada with her family to Canada in 2003. Lilet is
happily married for 28 years and blessed with two wonderful children, a son (26) and a daughter (22)
who both live in Toronto.
Lilet loves music, dancing, walking, hiking, meeting friends, travelling and is active in church. She is
fluent in 3 languages: English, Filipino and Dutch.
