Perhaps you're feeling disconnected in your relationship, you're not quite sure about your gender or what your options are for transitioning, or you're just beginning your life as an adult and you're feeling lost and uncertain. If any of that feels familiar to you, I can help. In our work together, you will feel understood and safe with me, and therapy will help you create the life, relationship, and identity you most long for.
I work with couples, young adults, and families on relationship issues, life transitions, depression and anxiety, sexuality, and gender identity (transgender, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, agender, nonbinary, etc). I have a special interest in working with queer couples, and couples in which one or both partners identifies as transgender or gender-nonconforming. I use Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), multicultural models, and an attachment-based framework to conceptualize relationships and behavior.
I have a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, and completed level one clinical training in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
In my free time, I enjoy going for walks, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I live with my husband, two children, and our dog in Minneapolis.
