The Executive Director of the Legal Professionals Program, Link Christin, in association with Caron Treatment Centers, are set to give a live talk for The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live Webcast Series, entitled: “How to Effectively Deal with Mental Health and Substance Use Issues for Lawyers”. – Being a member of the legal profession, along with other fields, is well known for causing high stress and anxiety; mandatory long working hours which can stretch to late in the evenings, and an unceasing heavy workload.

Who is Link Christin?
Christin, who worked as a lawyer himself, as well as a board-certified, licensed addiction and drug therapist, counselor, author and speaker, offers a lifetime of experience, along with what he has witnessed of his colleagues’ experiences, to the Legal Professionals Program at Caron Treatment Centers. Since 2012, Christin has concentrated solely on the treatment of weakened legal professionals in both outpatient and residential settings.
Of note, Christin attained his MS in Addiction Counseling from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies. And it was during this period that he set up and became director of the first national legal professionals program, at the Ford School. Moreover, he initiated and took the role of Chief executive Officer for a behavioral consulting firm for lawyers, named Heightened Performance LLC. He held the post of CEO for over four years. Further, Christin was given the renowned position of Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Substance Use Disorder Task Force, quite recently.
Christin launched and manages this national-wide program for various categories of people within the legal profession. These comprise: judges, lawyers, paralegals and law students, who are in residential treatment. This specialization provides clinical and education engagement from pre-entry to a continuation of care. Christin, together with his team, provide effective, solid counseling and resources for these professionals, several times each week. Moreover, at Caron, patients can engage in world-class programs and services.
