The Functional Medicine Center, Living Well Dallas, which is popular for its Brain Health Program, has just added Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG) treatment and diagnostics to their program, for the benefit of its patients [1].

So What is Quantitative Electroencephalogram Diagnostics?

Quantitative EEG, AKA brain mapping, refers to: “a method of analyzing the electrical activity of the brain to derive quantitative patterns that may correspond to diagnostic information and/or cognitive deficits. Clinical studies have demonstrated distinctive forms of brain electrical activity in psychiatric conditions including attention deficit disorder, schizophrenia, major depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder” [2]. As qEEG can record brainwaves, it enables specialists to create a map of participants’ brains, and according to the results, produce a custom-built neurofeedback treatment protocol which is designed to ameliorate particular conditions

At the present time, research shows specific types of electrical brain activity in a number of psychiatric conditions. These include: OCD, major depression, schizophrenia, autism, and learning disabilities. However, further research is needed in the fields of quantitative EEG for diagnosis, disease progression evaluation, and treatment .

The Extensive Brain Health Program Which Includes Free Facebook Courses

Along with the qEEG element, Living Well Dallas is also hosting a number of uplifting health centered workshops. These will cover “Conscious Cleanses,” healthy hormones and GMOs.

There will be a series of spring workshops and courses centered on physical health and mental well-being. A number of courses are provided free on the organization’s Facebook Live page; and some will be held in Dallas at 17000 Preston Road, Suite 400.

Conscious Cleanse

The initial course, which will run once a week in March and early April (on Tuesdays), enables sufferers to press the re-set button on their souls, bodies and minds, by undertaking a guided “Conscious Cleanse.” This is chaired by Celia Naples and Gabrielle Grandell two of Living Well Dallas’s well known health coaches. It will cover various areas such as: aches and pains and fatigue.

This topic which is always in the news, and has been linked to mental health, will go out on Living Well Dallas Facebook Live, on April 23. It will feature: “Living Well Dallas nutritionist and health coach Gabrielle Grandell, who will dissect this alarming new trend in food production and offer practical tips on what you can do about it”.

Healthy Hormones

This online workshop will air on May 14. It will take an up close and personal look at people’s lifestyle and diet decisions which can lead to hormone imbalance. “Grandell leads this workshop which will teach you to understand hormones as the body’s version of a Wi-Fi connection that can be flipped on and off. Grandell will show participants how to keep their hormones healthy at any stage of life.
